is an actor. He also serves as a board member of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, the Environmental Media Association, the Walden Woods Project, and Tree People. Ed drives an electric car and lives in a solar powered home.

ANNE BLOOM, assistant professor, McGeorge School of Law, is an attorney with significant public interest litigation experience, at both trial and appellate levels.  Her areas of expertise include civil rights and civil liberties, class actions, court secrecy, and federal preemption of state law. Bloom has been widely published and has spoken extensively throughout the country on various aspects of law and politics.  Previously Bloom taught as an associate professor for Occidental College in Los Angeles.  Bloom received a Ph.D. from the University of Washington in public law, American politics and political theory, a J.D. from the University of Maryland Law School, and her B.A. in political science from Mount Saint Mary's College.

JENNIE CARREÓN-LACEY has worked extensively throughout California’s political landscape, currently serving as director of Government and Public Relations for Soledad Enrichment Action, a network of 18 charter schools in Los Angeles County.  Carreón-Lacey previously contributed organizing and outreach expertise to the successful Villaraigosa for Mayor 2005 campaign, where she helped achieve record voter turnout, and to Jose Huizar’s campaign to fill Villaraigosa’s L.A. City Council seat.  Prior to these campaigns, Carreón-Lacey worked on the staff of then Councilmember Villaraigosa, state Senator Richard Alarcón, Lieutenant Governor Cruz M. Bustamante, and Governor Gray Davis.  Carreón-Lacey also served as canvassing director for the United Farm Workers of America, AFL-CIO, where she successfully increased Latino voter turnout in San Joaquin Valley.  Carreón-Lacey holds a B.A. in international relations and Latin & Latino American history from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and has completed graduate coursework in public policy and administration at California State University in Sacramento.

CINDY "SID" GREENWALD
has over 15 years of experience in the environmental arena. She has spent the majority of her professional life focused on air quality improvement efforts. Sid is a co-owner of Sustainable Design Source, an environmental consulting firm that provides information on sustainable building materials, practices, and techniques to architects, designers, developers and homeowners. Prior to starting Sustainable Design Source, Sid was a Vice President at Gladstein, Neandross Associates, LLC. While there she worked with both public and private entities to develop greenhouse gas reduction strategies, emission credit programs and innovative programs to create more livable/sustainable cities with greater energy efficiency, lower resource demands and improved quality of life. Sid holds a B.A. in Speech Communication and a J.D. from the University of Southern California.

VICTOR GRIEGO, JR. is a nationally recognized public affairs professional with over 25 years’ experience in political consulting, government relations and community outreach.  Griego is the president and founder of DSO Inc. (Diverse Strategies for Organizing), serving public and private sectors.  Mr. Griego has had years of highly visible success in mobilizing community leaders, neighborhoods, and organizations to influence public policy decisions. He has been an advisor to over 50 local, state and federal elections and ballot measures.  As the principal of DSO, he is a creative leader and strategic thinker, directly engaged in the firm’s many government and community relations assignments. He brings to every project extensive knowledge of California communities, and long-standing relationships with government, business, labor and community leaders.  Griego is a member of the Latin Business Association, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and a founding member of the Cesar E. Chavez Foundation.  Mr. Griego holds a B.A. in Political Science from Whittier College, and is currently at the Claremont Graduate University.

DIANA INGRAM is a director for the IBM Software Group, where she leads sales in North, Central and South America of strategic software technology.  Ingram has significant experience in managing international and domestic sales and marketing strategies in the area of information technology products and services.  Previously, Ingram was senior vice president, general manager of operations west, for Kinko's Inc., where she was responsible for retail and commercial operations for half of the U.S.  She has also served as vice president of global sales for the IBM Corporation’s Wireless e-Business Solutions unit.  Ingram is a member of the board of directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles and the Inland Empire.  In 1992, the NAACP Education and Legal Defense Fund named Ingram a recipient of the “Black Woman of Achievement" award.  She holds a B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford University and an M.B.A. in marketing and finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

JAMIE KNAPP
, Board Chair, is Principal of J Knapp Communications, and is a public relations practitioner who specializes in writing and strategic communications on transportation, energy and environmental issues. Her company represents clients in the public, private, and academic sectors throughout California. Knapp developed an expertise in transportation issues at the Sacramento-based Planning and Conservation League, where she worked on statewide initiative campaigns, served as PCL’s Communications Director, and collaborated with other environmental stakeholders on the effort to preserve California’s Zero Emission Vehicle Mandate. Knapp worked as a radio journalist and news director for 10 years before changing her career focus to advocacy. She has won awards for public relations campaigns, feature-writing, and broadcast journalism; in 1981 she shared honors with her radio news department in accepting the nationally coveted George Foster Peabody Award.

FELIX ODUYEMI
is Senior Project Manager for Public Affairs at Southern
California Edison (SCE). Felix joined SCE in 1994 as a Senior Regulatory Analyst for the Electric Transportation Division. Prior to his position with Edison, Felix was the Senior Planner and Program Manager for the Southern California Association of Governments responsible for the development of the region's growth and transportation plans, and their associated environmental documentations. Felix has extensive local government experience, having also served as a senior planner for San Bernardino County and as a planning consultant to a host of cities across the region. He holds a degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Cal Poly University Pomona, where he also completed the Masters Program in Public Administration. He was also a doctoral candidate in Public Administration at the University of La Verne. Felix is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and has served on the Board of Directors of American Planning Association, Inland Empire Section. His spare time is spent on developing strategies for sustainable economic development and stable democratic government in Nigeria.

GARY POLAKOVIC is the President of Polakovic & Partners, Inc., a full-service public affairs and strategic communications firm specializing in environmental issues. Polakovic has more than 20 years experience as an environmental professional, including writing and editing at the Los Angles Times. Polakovic shared the Pulitzer Prize with The Times' Metro Staff in 2004 and was a Pulitzer finalist in 2001. He was part of the leadership team that launched a new Times section, Outdoors, in 2003. Polakovic received the inaugural Meade Prize for Clean Air in 2002 in honor of a series of stories published by The Times in 2001 that explored the scientific, human and political dimensions of air pollution. Polakovic pioneered environmental journalism in California as a writer for The Press-Enterprise in Riverside and the San Bernardino Sun. His work has appeared in publications around the world and has been recognized by numerous organizations including the American Institute for Biological Sciences, Coalition for Clean Air and the American Lung Association.

Polakovic earned a B.S. in Communications and Environmental Science at Cal Poly Pomona in 1984 and did graduate work in the Environmental Studies Management Program at Cal State University, Fullerton. Polakovic was the recipient of the John S. Knight Fellowship at Stanford in 1997-98, where he studied environmental economics, climate change and corporate social responsibility. Polakovic also collaborated with the nation's top broadcasters and writers to create and lead the Society of Environmental Journalists and chaired its National Conference in 1999. He serves on the advisory Board of Trustees for the California State Parks Foundation.

JOHN S. SHEGERIAN is the Chairman and CEO of Electronic Recyclers, Inc. (ERI). Established in 2002, ERI is an Electronic Waste collector and recycler, specializing in the environmentally safe and socially responsible dismantling of electronic items such as computers, televisions and monitors. Electronic Recyclers is recognized as the Number One Electronic Waste Recycler in the state of California and one of the largest in North America.

Shegerian serves as an executive board member of the Alliance Toward Harnessing Global Opportunities (ATHGO) and as a board member on the VerdeXChange for Innovations and Developments in the Green Economy. He also serves on the Fundraising Committee and as an Ambassador of Education at California State University at Fresno. Shegerian also serves on the Board of the Boys and Girls Club of Fresno and on the Media Relations steering committee for the State of California's Integrated Waste Management Board. Shegerian serves alongside Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as a member of the California Commission for Jobs and Economic Growth and was recently appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger to serve on the Governor's Gang Advisory Committee, focused on providing the State's top legislators with guidance pertaining to policies geared toward the reduction of gang and youth violence.

ANNE SHEN SMITH
, M.S., Board Vice Chair, is Sr. Vice President of Customer Services for Southern California Gas Company and San Diego Gas & Electric. In addition to serving on the CCA Board, Ms. Smith currently serves as an executive advisory board member of the Asian Pacific American Legal Center. She has served as the Vice President of the Environmental Affairs Commission for the City of Los Angeles, and a variety of advisory committees, including the Public Advisory Committee of the Grand Canyon Visibility Transport Commission and the Federal Advisory Committee on Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Personal Vehicles.

PETER WEINER
, Board Secretary, heads the West Coast environmental practice of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker. He splits his time between San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Sacramento. Mr. Weiner has a broad environmental practice in the area of "brownfields" development, real estate transactions, hazardous waste management, property cleanup, water supply issues, air and water quality, OSHA, California Environmental Quality Act (environmental impact reports), pesticide registration, Proposition 65, environmental insurance, and California energy law. Peter received his B.A. degree from Harvard College in 1966, magna cum laude and phi beta kappa. He received his L.L.B. degree from Yale University School of Law in 1970, where he served as a member of the Yale Law Journal. He also received a Master’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics in 1967. Mr. Weiner is admitted to the California Bar, various federal courts in California and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Weiner served in various capacities in California State government from 1975 until1983, including Special Assistant to the Governor for Toxic Substances Control and Chief Deputy Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, which includes the California/OSHA program. He currently serves on the Advisory Committee to the Director of the Department of Toxic Substances Control, on the Statewide Advisory Committee to the University of California Center for Occupational and Environmental Health, and on the Board of Directors of the California State Parks Foundation and the Planning and Conservation League . He also serves on the Advisory Council of the Yosemite Restoration Trust.
